Marigold was built at Walter Cook and son, Maldon, in 1981. She is a Gravesend Bawley built upon the lines of the Lillian, built 1869. She is traditionally rigged, with a characteristic loose footed mainsail that can be brailled up to the mast, a tall top mast and a long bowsprit. Typically Marigold carries Mainsail, Jib, Staysail and Topsail. In light airs even more sail may be carried.
